Tianchi Technology Renamed Xinzhou Global, Adding Packaging Business to Strive for Profitability
2012-07-02
YC Group's major packaging company, Tianchi Technology, has been renamed Xinzhou Global Co., Ltd. (Xinzhou Global). Tianchi Technology is currently operating at a loss. At the beginning of this year, it started restructuring and redefining its business model. YC Group President Li Zhixian stated that after adding the Baodashi packaging chain business, Xinzhou Global aims to achieve break-even through aggressive expansion across both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
In May of this year, Xinzhou Global opened a new Baodashi store in Hsinchu’s Bade district. Another store is scheduled to open in Shanghai’s Qingpu district in July. Currently, there are 10 Baodashi stores in Taiwan and 19 in mainland China (including the July Qingpu location), totaling 29 stores. Baodashi's monthly revenue growth rate is steadily above 10%. The company plans to expand to 55 stores by the end of this year, with a long-term goal of reaching 350 stores by 2015.
YC Group now operates three publicly listed companies: YC, ACHEM, and Xinzhou Global, covering upstream film production, midstream adhesive tape manufacturing, and downstream packaging material sales. These three entities work in concert to form a vertically integrated packaging group with the most complete integration in the industry.
Tianchi Technology was originally part of the industrial computer sector, providing basic computers and cloud system services. YC Group acquired Tianchi in 2011. To address operational losses, the company has been restructured and renamed Xinzhou Global, focusing on the Baodashi packaging chain business.
Xinzhou Global’s Baodashi leverages a complete supply chain from YC to offer professional consulting tailored to different customer needs, providing one-stop shopping solutions. The company will also build long-term partnerships with local suppliers to offer a full range of products and technologies, including various adhesive tapes, packaging materials, packaging machinery, and plastic film processing. Baodashi aims to establish a store in each industrial park and within a one-hour drive, aggressively targeting the wholesale and retail packaging market across the Taiwan Strait.
