Tianchi Renamed Xinzhou Global, Focuses on YC Group’s Packaging Distribution
2012-07-02
YC Group is expanding its downstream packaging distribution. Following its acquisition of Tianchi Technology last year, the company has now approved the renaming of Tianchi Technology to Xinzhou Global Co., Ltd. during its shareholders’ meeting this year. The effective date for the name change is July 1, so Tianchi Technology is now officially Xinzhou Global. The company will continue to retain its cloud computing business while primarily focusing on managing YC Group’s logistics services and the Baodashi distribution network.
Originally part of the industrial computer sector, Tianchi Technology provided basic computers and cloud system services. YC Group acquired Tianchi in 2011 and has since been restructuring the company to address its operational losses.
YC Group President Li Zhixian stated that Tianchi Technology is currently operating at a loss. However, with the name change to Xinzhou Global and the launch of the Baodashi packaging chain business, the company aims to achieve break-even by actively expanding locations on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. In the future, the group will operate three publicly listed companies: YC, ACHEM, and Xinzhou Global, covering upstream film production, midstream adhesive tape manufacturing, and downstream packaging material sales, forming a vertically integrated packaging group.
Xinzhou Global will benefit from a complete supply chain advantage from YC and ACHEM, enabling it to offer professional consulting services tailored to various clients’ needs in the packaging industry. The company will also build long-term partnerships with local suppliers, providing a comprehensive range of products and technologies, including adhesive tapes, packaging materials, packaging machinery, and plastic film processing.
Xinzhou Global has already opened a new Baodashi store in Hsinchu’s Bade district in May. Another store is planned to open in Shanghai’s Qingpu district in July. Currently, there are 10 Baodashi stores in Taiwan and 19 in mainland China (including the Qingpu location), totaling 29 stores. Baodashi's monthly revenue growth rate is expected to be over 10%. The company aims to expand to 55 stores by the end of this year, with a long-term goal of reaching 350 stores across the Taiwan Strait by 2015, with each industrial zone having one store and within a one-hour drive to target the wholesale and retail packaging market.
