Tianchi Ventures into Packaging, Renamed Xinzhou Global
2012-07-02
Central News Agency, Taipei — July 2, 2012 — YC Group’s packaging giant, Tianchi Technology (3171), has been renamed Xinzhou Global starting today. Xinzhou Global will retain its cloud computing business while also managing the group's logistics services and the Baodashi retail chain.
In the future, YC Group will have three listed companies: Yih-Lang Chou, ACHEM (1715), and Xinzhou Global (3171). These companies will cover the entire supply chain from upstream film production, to midstream tape manufacturing, and downstream packaging sales, making it a globally integrated packaging group.
Tianchi Technology, originally an industrial computer business providing simple computers and cloud system services, was acquired by YC Group in 2011. To address operational losses, the company began organizational restructuring and business model transformation earlier this year.
YC Group President Li Zhixian stated that Tianchi Technology is still operating at a loss. However, with the addition of the Baodashi packaging chain, Xinzhou Global aims to achieve profitability by aggressively expanding locations on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Xinzhou Global’s Baodashi chain benefits from the complete supply chain from its parent company, Yih-Lang Chou, allowing it to provide professional consulting to meet various customer needs in one stop. Additionally, it will build long-term partnerships with local suppliers to offer a comprehensive range of products and technologies, including various tapes, packaging materials, packaging machinery, and plastic film processing.
Baodashi is expanding its presence with one new store in Hsinchu’s Bade district as of May this year and plans to open another location in Shanghai’s Qingpu district in July. Currently, there are 10 Baodashi stores in Taiwan and 19 in mainland China (including the Qingpu location), totaling 29 stores. The monthly revenue growth rate has consistently exceeded 10%. Baodashi aims to expand to 55 stores by the end of the year, with a long-term goal of reaching 350 stores across the Taiwan Strait by 2015.
