(Central News Agency reporter Pan Chih-yi, Taipei, July 10, 2013) Taiwan's leading tape manufacturer, YC Group, announced that its subsidiary, Asia Chemical (1715), has been officially renamed to ACHEM Chemical Company, effective immediately. The company's listing name on the stock market will change to "ACHEM," while the stock code will remain "1715."
YC (4306) stated that since incorporating Asia Chemical into the group in 2009, the rebranding aims to help the company shed old associations and create a new image. The decision to unify all manufacturing subsidiaries under the "ACHEM" name reflects this strategic shift. However, given that the English name "ACHEM" already has significant global recognition and a good reputation, it will remain unchanged.
In June, YC reported a consolidated revenue of NT$1.88 billion, a slight increase of 13.98% from May, primarily due to the recognition of revenue of approximately NT$368 million from the "Yunpin" construction project by the subsidiary Wangzhou Construction under the new international accounting standards (IFRS). This figure also represents an 18.1% increase compared to NT$1.592 billion in the same month last year.
ACHEM (formerly Asia Chemical) reported a consolidated revenue of NT$903 million for June, a decrease of 5.54% from May but a 2.5% increase compared to NT$881 million in the same month last year.
For Q2, both YC and ACHEM (formerly Asia Chemical) showed year-over-year growth in revenue from their core tape and film-related businesses, indicating continued operational momentum. Analysts predict that profitability will be better than the previous year.
Looking ahead to Q3, with international economic conditions stabilizing, increasing market demand in China, and new production lines coming online, it is expected that businesses in tapes, films, and packaging materials will continue to grow steadily. |
