Benefiting from rising oil prices and increased buying during the second-quarter peak season, YC (4306) saw a recovery in its film business, with May revenue reaching NT$1.522 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.36%. However, Achem (1715) and Hsinchu Global (3171) faced challenges due to the May Day holiday in China and adjustments in orders from food clients in Taiwan, respectively. Their May revenues were NT$950 million and NT$140 million, reflecting year-on-year decreases of 10.02% and 4.24%.
Looking ahead, YC Group is cautiously optimistic about the second half of the year, with stabilized crude oil prices and recovering petrochemical raw materials. Especially with Achem's new petrochemical and Hainan plant projects set to begin operations, and the completion of new construction projects in Xinzhong, there is expected to be added revenue potential in the second half of the year.
Achem noted that the May Day holiday led to a slowdown in order demand for May. However, with the Hainan plant expected to commence full-scale production in the second half of the year and stable raw material prices, revenue is anticipated to rise gradually each quarter.
Hsinchu Global expects strong performance in the second half of the year due to improved market conditions and completed adjustments to the customer base in mainland China. With several medium to large customers starting to place orders, the company is aiming for a revenue growth target of 20% to 30%.
