YC Group December Revenue: Film Business Still Struggling
2016-01-11
Taiwan's tape leader YC Group announced its consolidated revenue for December 2015 today (11th). The parent company YC saw a 1.77% month-over-month increase, while its subsidiaries Achem and Xinzhu Global experienced month-over-month increases of 5.24% and 1.14%, respectively. Looking ahead, YC’s film business remains problematic, while Xinzhu Global is expected to benefit from lower oil prices, leading to reduced material costs and improved gross margins this year.
For December, YC (4306-TW) reported consolidated revenue of NT$1.45 billion, up 1.77% from the previous month. For the year, cumulative revenue for the first 12 months decreased by 10.89% compared to the previous year, totaling NT$17.813 billion.
Achem (1715-TW) achieved consolidated revenue of NT$1.023 billion in December, a 5.24% increase month-over-month. However, its cumulative revenue for the first 12 months decreased by 12.95% year-over-year, totaling NT$11.966 billion.
Xinzhu Global (3171-TW) reported December consolidated revenue of NT$155 million, up 1.14% from the previous month. For the year, its cumulative revenue for the first 12 months decreased by 2.53% compared to the previous year, totaling NT$1.733 billion.
Looking forward, YC indicated that due to the continued low oil prices, its film business performance remains challenged. If oil prices continue to decline, revenue and profit growth will face ongoing difficulties.
Achem noted that if export orders and Chinese market orders remain stable, the company expects steady growth in Q1.
Xinzhu Global reported stable performance in Taiwan’s packaging orders and an increase in large key customer orders in China, driving continued growth. Additionally, lower oil prices have reduced material costs, significantly improving gross margins, and the company anticipates strong performance in Q1.
