Taiwan’s leading tape manufacturer, YC Group, held a ceremony today to celebrate the completion of its new headquarters and its corporate anniversary. Vice President Wu Den-yih, Deputy Director General of the Industrial Development Bureau Lu Zhenghua, and other distinguished guests from industry, government, and academia attended the event. Global partners of YC Group were also invited to join the celebration. President Li Zhixian stated, 'YC Group was founded in 1978, and after nearly 40 years of hard work, we have grown from the smallest tape manufacturer to become the world's most integrated tape manufacturing company and one of the largest producers of PVC and OPP tapes globally. This honor belongs to our partners and all our employees for their contributions!'
Since its establishment, YC (4306) has been in business for 38 years; Achem (1715) for 55 years; and Shin Kong Global (3171) for 25 years, amounting to a combined 118 years of experience, reflecting a century of wisdom and business philosophy. This year, in addition to the completion of the new headquarters and the corporate anniversary, Achem, a subsidiary of YC, was awarded the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) certification with the guidance of Cochin Management Consulting Co., Ltd. The award was personally presented by General Manager Pu Shusheng of the British Standards Institution Taiwan Branch.
Lin Yousheng and Jiang Wenrong, who took over as chairmen of Achem and Shin Kong Global, respectively, have set goals for the future direction of the companies. Chairman Lin Yousheng stated that Achem currently ranks first globally in OPP tape production capacity and second in PVC tape production. He emphasized that the company will actively promote the integration and enhancement of R&D and sales capabilities and accelerate the development of new product lines. It is estimated that the sales revenue from new products could account for 10-15% of total revenue. In terms of production capacity, OPP tape is expected to reach an annual capacity of 2.87 billion square meters, while PVC tape is expected to reach 270 million square meters. The goal is to provide the most competitive products and services, ultimately creating a global tape empire.
Chairman Jiang Wenrong mentioned that after reorganizing the business layout in China, the overall operational performance has significantly improved. Looking ahead, the packaging materials sector will expand to meet the demand for tourism packaging in southern and eastern Taiwan. The cloud information business will target food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries for information platform alliances. In China, the ‘Package Master’ initiative will actively establish service points in economic development zones in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Henan, Sichuan, Guangdong, and Fujian. Over the next five years, the revenue is expected to grow exponentially.
To pass on the corporate spirit of 'Integrity, Stability, Innovation, and Sustainable Operation,' the YC Group's headquarters building is designed with the company’s key product, 'tape,' as its design concept. It features a 360-degree curved structure that combines modern architectural art with green environmental concepts, representing the ultimate goal of 'sustainable operation,' leading the company toward a new milestone. The YC Group headquarters building, from land acquisition, planning, groundbreaking, construction, topping-off, to commissioning, took seven years to complete. It is valued at approximately NT$4 billion (about US$130 million) and aims to create a comprehensive workplace for employee well-being.
The first floor of the YC Group headquarters features an art hall displaying works by renowned artists, creating a welcoming entrance with cultural aesthetics. The third floor houses the YC International Conference Center, which includes ten functional meeting rooms equipped with complete conference facilities, available for external rental in the future. The basement floor is designed as an employee cafeteria, offering healthy and balanced meals, with added amenities like a KTV, gym, and reading space, catering to employees’ lifestyle needs and improving work efficiency. The office floors feature spacious terraces on all sides, allowing natural landscapes to flow easily indoors, creating a balanced environment for work and relaxation.
