Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou and Chinese leader Xi Jinping are set to meet this Saturday in Singapore. The business community views this positively, believing that communication is better than no communication at all. A meeting between the leaders of both sides is always a good start.
Today (November 4th), YC Group held a ceremony to mark the completion of its new headquarters and its corporate anniversary. Jiang Wenrong, Chairman of packaging giant Shin Kong Global, expressed optimism about the Ma-Xi meeting, noting that a relaxed atmosphere will reduce uncertainties. Taiwanese businesses striving for more favorable conditions is much better than a policy deadlock, as it can alleviate some of the instability.
Jiang Wenrong pointed out that China's industries have also been undergoing adjustments in recent years, making it difficult for the industry to keep up with policy changes in China.
