The new headquarters of Taiwan’s leading tape manufacturer, YC Group, in Neihu was officially completed today. The building, designed with a "tape" concept, took seven years from planning to completion. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vice President Wu Den-yih, financial industry representatives, and clients from Japan and India, totaling around 300 to 400 guests.
After the completion of the new headquarters, the company’s previously scattered subsidiaries in Taishan and Dazhi—covering construction, petrochemicals, tapes, and packaging materials—will now be consolidated in one building. This move is expected to enhance efficiency both vertically and horizontally for the YC Group.
YC Group’s subsidiary companies include YC, which has been established for 38 years; Achem, with 55 years of operation; and Shin Kong Global, which has been around for 25 years. YC's Chief Financial Officer Lin Jianyu noted that the headquarters building, located on Xing Shan Road in Neihu, was purchased during the SARS outbreak in 2003 at NT$750,000 per ping. The total area was 1,800 pings, but only 1,000 pings were used for the headquarters while the rest was sold. The current land price has risen to NT$2 million per ping, making the total value of the building approximately NT$4 billion.
The new headquarters features eight floors above ground and four basement levels. After the subsidiaries move in, the 1st, 2nd, and 5th floors will be available for rent, generating rental income.
The design of the headquarters creatively incorporates the company's main product, "tape," using a 360-degree curved concept that blends modern architectural art. The first floor includes an art lobby with works by renowned artists, which will be available for group events. The building also houses an international conference center, ten functional meeting rooms, and an employee restaurant with amenities such as KTV and a gym. (China Times) |
