Tape Leader YC Group Unveils New Corporate Headquarters
2015-11-04
(Taipei, Central News Agency) — Taiwan's leading tape manufacturer, YC Group, held the inauguration ceremony for its new headquarters and its corporate anniversary celebration today. The event was attended by Vice President Wu Den-yih and other distinguished guests from the financial sector. Chairman Li Chih-hsian stated that the period from 2016 to 2020 is crucial for the group’s "pruning and replanting."
Li noted that the surplus production capacity of various plastic products in mainland China, combined with low oil prices and economic downturns, has prompted the group to reflect on its competitive strength. Thus, YC Group has designated the next five years as a critical time for restructuring and replanting, aiming to grow stronger in the future.
Since its establishment, YC Group’s subsidiaries have marked significant anniversaries: YC has been in operation for 38 years, Achem for 55 years, and Shin Kong Global for 25 years, reflecting a century of business wisdom and experience. The new headquarters in Neihu’s redevelopment zone consolidates previously dispersed offices into one building, enhancing efficiency and communication.
Achem Chairman Lin Yousheng reported that Achem currently leads the world in OPP (Ortho-Phthalic Acid) tape production capacity and is second globally in PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) tape production. The company plans to enhance its research, development, and sales capabilities, aiming to increase the share of new products in its revenue to 10-15%. Achem’s projected annual production capacity includes 2.87 billion square meters for OPP tape and 270 million square meters for PVC tape, striving to offer the most competitive products and services to create a global tape empire.
Shin Kong Global Chairman Jiang Wenrong stated that after adjusting the company’s operations in mainland China, overall performance has significantly improved. Future expansion will target packaging needs in central and southern regions of China and the eastern regions. The cloud information business will focus on alliances in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. The company plans to establish service points in economic development zones in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Henan, Sichuan, Guangdong, and Fujian, with expected revenue growth in the next five years.
YC Group noted that the new building, located on Xing Shan Road in Neihu’s redevelopment zone, took seven years to complete from land acquisition to construction and commissioning. The building stands nine stories high, with floors 1, 2, and 5 available for lease. The total cost of land and construction was approximately NT$1.5 billion, with the current market value estimated at NT$4 billion.
