YC Group Overall Revenue Rebounds Slightly in August
2015-09-10
(CNA Reporter Wei Shu, Taipei, September 10, 2015) Taiwan's leading tape manufacturer, YC Group, announced its August revenue, with Achem (1715) and Xinzho Global (3171) both showing revenue improvements compared to July. As the group moves into the fourth quarter, operations at Wanzhou Chemical are expected to gradually improve, and Xinzho Global's third-quarter performance is projected to surpass that of the second quarter.
YC Group reported that its consolidated revenue for August was NT$1.604 billion, down 3.09% from July. Cumulative revenue for the first eight months decreased by 11.06% year-on-year. Achem (1715) posted consolidated revenue of NT$1.03 billion for August, a 1.76% increase from July, but cumulative revenue for the first eight months decreased by 14.07% year-on-year.
Xinzho Global (3171) achieved consolidated revenue of NT$150 million in August, a 2.11% increase from July, with cumulative revenue for the first eight months down by 2.2% year-on-year.
Achem noted that it began recognizing revenue from its factory relocation in July, and the gradual recovery in the Chinese market has boosted demand in the tape market, resulting in better revenue performance in August compared to July. If oil prices stabilize, overall operations are expected to slightly improve in the second half of the year.
Xinzho Global stated that it has adjusted its sales strategy in the Chinese market this year. In addition to maintaining its existing customer base, it is targeting large manufacturers to expand its customer base, leading to significant growth in its operations in China. Meanwhile, operations in Taiwan remain stable, and third-quarter revenue is expected to outperform the second quarter.
YC mentioned that although the company has been affected by an oversupply in the Chinese film market, which led to price declines, the slight recovery in international oil prices has stabilized YC revenue performance. If oil prices stop falling and recover, overall operations are expected to gradually stabilize.
