The ASEAN market's demand for polyester fibers, BOPP films, and PVC films has been increasing year by year, with many downstream manufacturers shifting their investments to countries like Vietnam. With Vietnam likely to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), Nan Ya (1303) is increasing its investment through Taiwan Hsing Yieh with an additional $500 million to launch projects in polyester filament, BOPP, spinning, cogeneration, and PS. This move is expected to enhance its operational strength alongside rising demand in China.
Additionally, YC (4306) operates tape production bases in Taiwan, China, and Vietnam, with BOPP and PVC tape production ranking second globally. After successfully forming a strategic alliance with 3M for BOPP supply in Taiwan and securing a leading position in China's PVC tape market, the group has extended its strategy to include production investments. Looking ahead, YC aims to penetrate the Japanese acrylic acid market through Toyota Tsusho.
