Taichung Customs will honor the top bonded factories and outstanding bonded business personnel for the fiscal year 2013 on the 17th. The ceremony will be personally hosted and certificates awarded by Customs Director Hsieh Lian-Chi. A total of 31 factories will be recognized as top bonded factories, and 19 individuals will be honored as outstanding bonded business personnel.
Currently, Taichung Customs oversees 79 bonded factories. Factories designated as top bonded factories not only receive public recognition from customs but also enjoy several benefits. These include exemptions from detailed on-site inspections for product materials, lower sampling rates during on-site inspections, exemptions from customs' annual inventory checks, and simplified reporting processes for bonded goods. Additionally, according to the consistency principle for bonded zone tax incentives, Article 59 of the Customs Act has been amended to exempt bonded factories importing machinery and equipment for their own use from customs duties, similar to businesses in export processing zones and science parks.
