Benefiting from new production capacity coming online last month, plastic packaging and tape manufacturer YC (4306) saw its October revenue grow nearly 8% compared to September. Looking ahead, the company anticipates that with rising downstream demand, its tape, film, and packaging distribution businesses should be able to maintain or even exceed third-quarter performance levels, and it remains cautiously optimistic about Q4 operations.
In October, YC's consolidated revenue was approximately 1.734 billion yuan, reflecting a 7.69% month-over-month increase and a 12.42% year-over-year rise. For the period from January to October, the cumulative revenue reached 16.298 billion yuan, a 4.80% increase compared to the same period last year.
YC attributed the revenue growth in October to the operational start of its seventh BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) production line, which boosted overall shipment volumes and sales. Currently, YC’s BOPP production capacity in China is about 5,000 tons per month, while in Taiwan it is approximately 8,200 tons per month.
Looking forward, YC projects that, based on current order trends and continued downstream demand growth, its core businesses in tape, film, and packaging distribution should sustain or exceed third-quarter levels. The company is cautiously optimistic about its Q4 performance.
In addition to these developments, YC’s expansion plans include the Shanghai Phase I investment in ACHEM Petrochemical, which involves annual production capacities of 80,000 tons of acrylic acid, 80,000 tons of butyl acrylate, and 20,000 tons of adipic acid. The plant is expected to be completed and commence operations in February next year.
