YC Group Signs Industry-Academia Cooperation Agreement with Chinese Culture University
2013-07-24
YC Group is committed to corporate social responsibility and is actively promoting industry-academia cooperation projects to assist students and improve employment rates. On July 23, 2013, YC Group signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese Culture University. In addition to providing annual scholarships, students who receive these scholarships will be given priority for internships at the group, with the potential to become official employees in the future. This initiative helps students prepare for the competitive job market and facilitates smooth employment after graduation.
YC Group President, Zhi-Hsien Li, places great importance on this industry-academia cooperation plan and personally visited Chinese Culture University to finalize the agreement. President Li noted that while current students have access to abundant information and advanced technology, they face a more challenging employment environment compared to previous generations. He believes that aligning students' chosen fields of study with industry-specific knowledge and skills will make talent acquisition more efficient for companies and allow graduates to fully leverage their strengths, effectively addressing the "unemployment after graduation" issue.
Currently, YC Group has achieved vertical integration in the tape manufacturing sector, becoming one of the world's largest producers of OPP and PVC tapes. With the group's international operations expanding, it now has over 100 business locations globally and trade relations with more than 200 countries. Besides its core business in film, tape, and packaging materials through listed companies, the group also has real estate development ventures. The diverse talent needed includes traditional manufacturing, construction development, and channel services. The industry-academia cooperation aims to provide more learning resources, internships, and employment opportunities, allowing students to join the group immediately after graduation and enhance their workplace experience.
Chinese Culture University President, Wan-Yi Wu, expressed gratitude for the smooth progress of this cooperation plan. President Wu emphasized that the university, which has been in operation for fifty years, has received the Ministry of Education's teaching excellence grant for four consecutive years. To increase students' competitiveness in the job market, the university actively signs industry-academia cooperation agreements with well-known companies, facilitating seamless integration with leading enterprises upon graduation.
President Li expressed hopes for establishing long-term cooperation with domestic universities. Besides continuing to provide scholarships and employment opportunities, there could be further exchanges, such as corporate visits, faculty lectures at the group's training centers, and joint development or research of new products and technologies. This collaboration aims to enhance mutual understanding and agreement in talent development, allowing the company to recruit outstanding talent and providing ample development opportunities for these talents, achieving a win-win outcome.
