Wan Chao Purchases Chongqing South Road Building for NT$300 Million

Central News Agency, Taipei — YC Group’s subsidiary, Wan Chao Construction, has purchased a building on Chongqing South Road, Taipei City. Wan Chao Construction has stated that, after the current leases expire, there is potential for redevelopment into small residential units in a prestigious school district.
Today, Wan Chao Construction bought the building located at No. 38, Section 3, Chongqing South Road, Taipei City, from the Pacific Cultural Foundation for NT$310.94 million. The building covers a land area of 99.5225 pings and a building area of 416.46 pings, which translates to approximately NT$74,660 per ping.
YC Group noted that the building is adjacent to Chongqing South Road, with convenient access to Taipei Main Station and major government offices to the north, and close to Zhongzheng Bridge providing access to Zhonghe and Yonghe in New Taipei City to the south. The building is surrounded by the Botanical Garden, Green Park, National History Museum, Taiwan Art Education Center, Post Office Hospital, and prestigious schools such as Jianzhong High School, Taipei First Girls' High School, and the National Language Experimental Elementary School. The location offers excellent living amenities with substantial potential for rental or sales value increase.
Wan Chao Construction will next target first-time homebuyers and those looking to upgrade their homes, with plans to launch new projects in the New Taipei City Subcenter and Linkou Phase II in 2015. The New Taipei City Subcenter Phase II site covers approximately 900 pings and will be planned for 30 to 40 ping residential units, with an estimated total sales value of NT$5 billion. The Linkou Phase II site, covering 700 pings, will also focus on 30 to 40 ping residential units, with an estimated total sales value of NT$3.5 billion.
