YC Group, a global packaging material giant, has signed an "Industry-Academia Collaboration Memorandum" with National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech). The collaboration will focus on offering courses through the "Taiwan Tech Leadership Academy," student internship matching, and consultation on students' future development.
YC Group President Lee Chih-Hsien stated that the job market for university graduates today is more challenging compared to the previous generation. If students choose disciplines and professional subjects that are closely aligned with industry needs, it can effectively address the societal issue of "graduating into unemployment."
Lee emphasized that through industry-academia collaboration, combining theory with practice, students can develop strong technical skills and acquire the expertise required by the industry upon graduation. This not only enhances the efficiency of talent recruitment for companies but also allows outstanding talents to fully utilize their potential within the industry. In recent years, YC has actively promoted industry-academia collaboration programs, providing practical opportunities for students to gain industry experience. This initiative enables companies to discover and nurture promising students early on, helping graduates seamlessly transition into the workforce.
Professor Chang Shun-Chiao, Dean of the "Taiwan Tech Leadership Academy," who helped facilitate this collaboration, expressed his gratitude for YC's willingness to offer students opportunities for hands-on industry experience. He emphasized that Taiwan Tech is Taiwan's leading institution for vocational and technical education, dedicated to cultivating top-level engineering and management professionals. He firmly believes that the collaboration between Taiwan Tech and YC is a wise choice.
