Benefiting from strong demand for packaging materials, YC (4306) announced today (12th) that its consolidated revenue for March reached NT$1.519 billion, an increase of NT$660 million from February, representing a growth of 76.83%. Compared to the same period last year (2009), it marked a rise of 149.84%. Consolidated revenue for the first quarter was NT$3.549 billion, up 155.42% from NT$1.39 billion in the same quarter last year.
YC stated that global demand for packaging materials remained strong, with both shipment volumes and prices rising in March. Additionally, the recognition of NT$261 million in revenue from ACHEM Construction helped push revenue past the NT$1.5 billion mark.
Looking ahead to the second quarter, YC indicated that the global consumer goods industry continues to recover, further boosted by the World Expo. Demand for packaging materials such as films and tapes, used in food, clothing, and department stores, is expected to keep rising. Subsidiaries like Ningbo Yashuo in China and ACHEM (1715) are also expected to deliver strong revenue performance in the second quarter.
