Packaging Material Demand Increases, YC's Q1 EPS at NT$0.70

As consumer goods, logistics, and related industries enter a peak season, there is a notable increase in demand for packaging materials, reflected in a significant rise in shipment volumes in the first quarter. Additionally, since the beginning of this year, upstream raw material prices have risen nearly 30%. To reflect these costs, prices have been raised almost every month, and further price increases of 5-8% are expected starting in May, solidifying the upward trend in pricing.
In the first quarter of the fiscal year, the consolidated revenue reached NT$3.637 billion, a growth of 172% compared to the same period last year. The consolidated net operating profit was NT$235 million, and the consolidated pre-tax net profit stood at NT$161 million, resulting in a pre-tax earnings per share (EPS) of NT$0.82. The total consolidated net profit was NT$258 million, leading to an after-tax EPS of NT$0.70.
YC's subsidiary, ACHEM, reported profits of nearly NT$150 million in the first quarter, with YC recognizing NT$50 million. Wangzhou Construction, fully invested by YC, reported revenue from the "City of the Future" project based on the percentage of completion method, contributing approximately NT$60 million in the first quarter.
In the first quarter of the fiscal year, the revenue was NT$973 million, representing a 25.67% increase compared to the same period last year. The operating net profit was NT$527 million, with a pre-tax net profit of NT$169 million, leading to a pre-tax EPS of NT$0.73. The after-tax net profit was NT$161 million, showing a growth of 103.12% compared to the same period last year, resulting in an after-tax EPS of NT$0.70.
For the previous fiscal year, the consolidated revenue was NT$7.421 billion, with a consolidated operating net profit of NT$707 million, and a consolidated pre-tax net profit of NT$681 million. The total consolidated net profit (including shareholders of the parent company and minority interests) was NT$627 million, with a pre-tax EPS of NT$3.05 and an after-tax EPS of NT$2.79. The revenue for the previous fiscal year was NT$3.677 billion, with an operating net profit of NT$247 million, a pre-tax net profit of NT$613 million, a pre-tax EPS of NT$3.01, and an after-tax net profit of NT$570 million, resulting in an after-tax EPS of NT$2.79.
