YC (4306) signed an "Industry-Academia Collaboration Memorandum" with National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech) today. The collaboration will focus on co-developing courses for the "Taiwan Tech Leadership Academy," matching students with corporate internships, and offering consultation for students' future career development. The goal is to cultivate business leaders with compassion, responsibility, innovation, and interdisciplinary integration capabilities.
As YC Group continues to expand and diversify its business operations, the need to bring in new talent and fresh ideas to maintain competitiveness has become increasingly critical. In recent years, YC has been actively promoting industry-academia collaboration programs, providing hands-on corporate opportunities. This initiative allows the early identification and development of potential students, ensuring that they seamlessly transition into the industry upon graduation.
YC Group President Lee Chih-Hsien pointed out that today’s graduates face a far more challenging job market compared to previous generations. If students select fields of study and professional subjects that are closely tied to practical industry applications, the societal issue of "graduating into unemployment" can be effectively resolved. By integrating theory with practice through industry-academia collaboration, students can develop solid technical skills and gain the expertise needed by the industry after graduation. This will make talent recruitment more efficient for companies, while allowing outstanding individuals to fully showcase their abilities.
YC plans to establish further industry-academia collaborations with more universities in Taiwan, taking practical steps to assist students and boost employment rates. In addition to continuing to offer scholarships and internship opportunities, YC will promote interaction and exchange through activities such as corporate visits, educational training, and research and development cooperation. These efforts will foster greater synergy and mutual understanding in talent development between industry and academia.
