YC Raises Financial Forecast, Full-Year EPS Reaches NT$5.45
2011-08-11
(Liberty Times reporter Chen Yung-chi, Taipei) YC (4306) announced yesterday that its revenue for July was NT$423 million, a 25.1% increase compared to the same period last year, though it declined by 5% compared to June. Consolidated revenue reached NT$1.546 billion, a 23.4% increase from NT$1.253 billion last year. Cumulative consolidated revenue for the first seven months of the year was NT$10.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.1%.
YC stated that since it has significantly raised BOPP film prices in August, July's revenue has bottomed out. The company explained that the shutdown of the Formosa Plastics Sixth Naphtha Cracking Plant could reduce the supply of raw materials, making it difficult for product prices to decline. Prices are expected to rise moderately from the third quarter until the end of the year. Additionally, low downstream inventory levels are expected to create pressure for inventory replenishment, further preventing price drops and boosting revenue performance. YC's new BOPP film production line at Changbin Industrial Park is expected to begin operations by the end of the year, providing new growth momentum for the group.
Additionally, during the board meeting yesterday, YC approved an upward adjustment to its financial forecast. The original forecast for consolidated revenue this year was NT$19 billion, which has been adjusted to NT$20.3 billion, an increase of approximately 7%. Pre-tax net profit has been adjusted from NT$602 million to NT$1.521 billion, an increase of approximately 153%. Pre-tax earnings per share have also been revised from the original forecast of NT$2.20 to NT$5.45.
