The Taiwan Adhesive Tape Industry Association held its board elections on April 10, with Li Zhi-Xian, President of YC Group, elected as the 13th Chairman. Li emphasized that adhesive tape is a "technological traditional industry" and called on the government to take it seriously by enhancing incentives for equipment and energy-saving investments. He expressed hope that all industry peers will join the association to help transform Taiwan into a leading tape kingdom.
Li highlighted the profound technology involved in adhesive tapes and noted that, depending on their applications, they drive continuous research and market demand. However, Taiwan’s tape industry has struggled to shed its "traditional industry" image, making it difficult to attract new technology talent and secure government attention.
Li hopes the government will strengthen support for this technological traditional industry by encouraging investment in environmental protection, energy efficiency, and advanced equipment, as well as providing research and development incentives. The association plans to host the Global Tape Forum in Taiwan in November, which will be a major event for the year.
